How much does OverhaulOS cost a transport company?+
OverhaulOS is prepaid: your company loads credit up front by EFT, and every job draws it down — no month-end bills, no debt, and jobs pause automatically if the balance can't cover them. Pricing is a fixed per-country price list, and the platform fee (5%) comes out of the mechanic's side, not on top. No subscription to get started — register your fleet and you're covered from day one.
What happens when my truck breaks down in another country?+
OverhaulOS follows the truck across the border automatically. If your Namibian truck breaks down in Zambia, OverhaulOS Zambia dispatches a local verified mechanic, your controller stays in the loop, and the job is drawn from your same prepaid balance — priced on that country's fixed price list, with no currency conversion inside the job.
Can I control who in my company has access?+
Yes. Your Ambassador (company owner) has full oversight and can create Controllers to manage the fleet 24/7 and Accounts staff to handle invoicing and payments — each with their own login and permissions.
How do I get jobs as a mechanic?+
Set your specialties and rate card (within per-country caps) — every controller-approved job within 200 km that matches your skills appears in your marketplace; first to accept wins. Arrive, enter the driver's 6-digit code, repair, and close with a photo. Apply here.
When and how do I get paid?+
Payment is guaranteed by OverhaulOS — the company's credit is already loaded before you accept a job. When the invoice is approved your wallet is credited (minus the 5% platform fee), and it becomes withdrawable once the dispute window passes. Withdrawals have no minimum and no frequency limit, paid to your bank by EFT — no chasing companies for cash.
What do I need to register?+
Registration happens in the app and takes about 10 minutes. Have ready: your ID or business registration, trade certificates, proof of banking details and proof of address — you photograph and upload them directly in the app. The Mechanic Starter Pack has the full checklist. Verification usually takes a couple of business days.
Does the app work without signal?+
Yes. A breakdown can be reported offline — your location and details are saved on the device and sent the instant signal returns. On African long-haul routes this is essential, and it's built into the driver app from the ground up.
What is the Silent SOS?+
A long-press panic button that raises an alert with no sound or vibration — useful in unsafe situations. Your controller and emergency contacts immediately receive your live location. The SOS button is always visible in the driver app.
Do I need to pay the mechanic myself?+
Never. Drivers carry no cash for recovery. Everything is handled between the mechanic, OverhaulOS and your company. You just report the breakdown and get back on the road.
How does the payment flow work?+
Your company pre-loads credit by EFT. When your controller approves a job and a mechanic accepts, the estimate is reserved from your balance; on completion the invoice draws it down and the mechanic's wallet is credited minus 5%. Mechanics withdraw by EFT. No money moves through the app — every balance is an audited ledger kept true by a mirror updater.
Which currencies are supported?+
Each country runs on its own fixed price list in local currency — NAD, ZAR and ZMW at launch (Namibia first, then South Africa and Zambia, phased). There's no currency conversion inside a job: when your truck crosses a border, the local price list and local mechanic network apply, drawn from your prepaid balance.
Is there a contract or lock-in?+
You'll sign a standard service agreement (see the company agreement) but there's no long lock-in to try the platform. You pay for the recovery jobs you use.
